The misunderstood genius

Yesterday I wanted to start reading The Picture of Dorian Gray Oscar Wilde, before the start of the book itself is a review of Wilde written by one Gomez de la Serna. Initially made as a sort of biography of the writer pointing out especially the view that crosses Wilde. That's where I want to stop and talk about it. The trial why I do not care, researching a little more than what he is talking de la Serna discovered that he was accused of sodomy for having an "intimate friendship" with one Douglas. At trial he displays all his genius and it's like a phrase quoted from the Serna: "Do you know the great drama of my life? Is that I put all my genius into my life and in my work I have put only my talent. "At first I thought it was a little arrogant and cocky but when advancing to the" Exhumation "written by de la Serna I realized that was true.
In his characters reflects the personality of the people of London and the matter said: "London society has made immense progress, is now entirely composed of beautiful idiots and brilliant lunatics."
I spoke Before the trial, although Wilde deploys all his genius and his sarcasm ends up being convicted. Some excerpts from the trial:
When the judge says he finds some ambiguity in a letter to Douglas, Wilde replied: "It was my peculiar way of writing." "They were so all your letters?" He asks the judge, to which Wilde replied: "No, you can not write letters like this every day."
In a part of the judge shows him a letter and asks if he recognizes that it is immoral to what Wilde says "It's worse. Is misspelled."
At another point the judge asked if he likes to drink champagne, Wilde replied: "Yes, frappe, is one of my favorite drinks, though, by the way, I'd have banned my physician. "The judge angrily tells him not being there to heed the requirements of your doctor, what Wilde says," I've never done for them. "
These are excerpts of the trial de la Serna citing that I liked. Googlenado Wilde found some phrases that I also liked:
" I will not stop talking just because they are listening to me. I like listening to myself. It is one of my greatest pleasures. They often have long conversations with myself, and I am so clever that sometimes do not understand a word they say. "
" Questions are never indiscreet. The answers, sometimes it does."
" The only difference between a fad and an eternal passion is that the caprice lasts longer."
" would do anything to make her young again ... except exercise, get up early, or be a useful member of the community."
" speak much of the beauty of certainty as if ignorant of the subtle beauty of the doubt. To believe is very dull, the question is fascinating."
" Society often forgives the criminal, but it never forgives the dreamer."
" Cynicism is to see things as they really are, not as they are to be."
" When people agree with me I always feel that I must be wrong."
" As bad person I am a complete disaster. There are lots of people say that I have not done anything wrong in my life. Of course only dare to say it behind my back."

to be closing ... Wilde fascinated me with his ability to refute his sharp tongue and sarcasm and / or cynicism. Still not started reading Dorian Gray, but Wilde got me. The guy looks like a genius, was a genius.
